I loved this idea when I saw the pictures on Pinterest, posted by SugarBaby.
Whether your child is 4 or 10 years old, every child needs a special, magical place where they can relax while enjoying a good book. Validate the importance of reading by providing your child with a comfortable destination where they can get lost chasing their favorite storybook characters. This inexpensive DIY project can be quite easy to do.
Once your child has outgrown their crib, pull out the mattress and cover it with soft cotton fabrics or sheeting. Tuck this new reading nest into their bedroom corner, family room or outdoor space; any area that they can claim for their own. Privacy is easily added by rigging some sheeting over head.
Whether you have fashioned a reading fort, a castle retreat, a relaxing reading couch or an outdoor oasis you have created a comfie cot for your kids to snuggle down into with their cherished books.
By placing a box filled with books and children’s magazines at the end of the bed or coach you'll increase their potential reading delights for hours to come. You’ve also found a wonderful way to reuse the very mattress on which their first dreams were dreamt.
